Assalamu’alaikum Wr Wb

Praise be to Allah (S.W.T) as we have been given the opportunity to celebrate the beauty of this blessed Ramadan together.

Before the Fast of Ramadan was commanded, Zakat was made obligatory in the second year of Hijrah. As in other religious duties, the Fast of Ramadan and Zakat is inextricably linked. Both encourage compassion and the motivation to constantly help those in need.

Through your support, the total Zakat on Wealth and Fitrah collection has increased over the years. Your Zakat has helped to improve the standard of living of the Singapore Muslim community and help develop programmes such as financial assistance and empowerment of the poor and needy, development of the madrasah, asatizah and community as well as Islamic education in general. Muis has also created a special $2.5 million Progress Fund to ensure that Zakat recipients and their children are able to achieve self-reliance and experience a more stable life in the long run.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude towards your trust and support to Muis as the authority responsible for the administration of Zakat in Singapore. Together we can uplift the social and religious development of the Singapore Muslim community.

We wish you well in performing your fast and Zakat in this blessed month of Ramadan. May all our deeds be accepted by Allah (S.W.T). Amin.
