who is Allah

“Who is Allah is just not a book about knowing Allah and His Attributes, but going beyond and into why knowledge of Allah is important. To completely understand the beautiful and glorious names of the Almighty and to apply that knowledge to our daily life, the writer discuss each meaning of Allah’s names and attributes from various approaches including, providing proof from the Quran and the Sunnah; explanations of their meaning (Allah’s names and attributes); applying the knowledge of this name to our everyday life so readers can reflect on and ponder the greatness of Allah swt; and supplications from the Prophet (pbuh) that uses His names.

The simplicity of the writer in penning her words makes it easier for the readers to associate and apply the knowledge to ones life.

Mesmerised – That’s how I felt after just reading the first few pages of the book. Extracted from “Who is Allah”:

“One method of increasing faith and allowing peace into the heart is through reflecting on the verses of Allah swt, the creation of Allah and the Greatness of Allah. By letting the meanings of Allah’s names and attributes sink into your heart, your heart will find serenity, calmness and tranquility. Your trust in Allah will be given a boost, your faith will climb, and your submission to Allah swt will broaden.”

Subhanallah! Reading that brings awe to my heart. Need I ask for more? Indeed a wake up call. Shouldn’t be sighing nor sad. When the mind is thinking that no one is out there to share your plight or hoping the person that should be there to protect or cherish you is just nowhere in sight, always remember that only onto Him you put your hope and trust; only from Him you will find your comfort; and only by Him you will excel in this life. With that glued in the mind, there’s nothing else to complain.

That’s just one of the many examples found in the book that keeps me going. Despite the hindrance throughout the journey, simply by remembering what is written in the book, it gives the courage to pick up the pieces, shrug off what’s unwanted and move on with life. Nothing beats knowing Allah swt is always there by your side.

Life span is but one day. Live it as if you were born in it and will die at the end of it. Save yourself from the anxieties of the past and the uncertainty of the future. With this attitude, you will be marching on this earth with fullest splendor and brilliance, InsyaAllah.

This book is an ‘asset’ to every Muslim – full of advises, motivations and reflections to our daily spiritual nourishment. It is soothing and pleasant to read and in fact, it should not be read merely as a story book, but as a reference to all Muslims in going through the journey of life.

“Who is Allah” should be picked up often when we feel our faith is going ups and downs and in need of a certain verses and words of Allah to remind us of His abundance love and mercy.
