He is from the lineage of Rasulullah sallaahu ‘alayhissalam from the family of As Sagaf. He is one of the sons from the 16 children of Al-Habib Abdul Qadir bin Abdurrahman Assegaf (a scholar and religious leader of Jami’ Assegaf Mosque at Pasar Kliwon Solo).
Born on 20 September 1961, educated under the care of his father, Habib Syech studied Islam and the field of akhlaq. Then he learned from his uncle, Al-Habib Ahmad Bin Abdurrahman Assagaf who was from Hadramaut, Yaman. He also received education, support, and guidance from Al-Imam, Al-Arif billah, Al-Habib Muhammad Anis bin Alwiy Al-Habsyi, religious leader of Riyadh Mosque, Solo, Indonesia, better known as the grandson of Al Habib Ali Bin Muhammad Al Habsyi (author of the famous Book of Mawlid, Simtut Dhuror).
Blessed with his guidance, advice, and patience, Habib Syech Bin Abdul Qadir Assegaf lived his days to spread the love of Rasulullah which has a tremendous following in the name of ‘Ahbabul Musthofa’. He has gained worldwide popularity through the voices of his Qasidah and heartfelt praises for Rasulullah.
